Fort Bend County Libraries (FBCL) presents special reading clubs during the summer to encourage reading among children, teens, and adults. Registration for the 2015 Summer Reading Clubs will begin on Monday, June 1, and continue through August 29, at all Fort Bend County Libraries locations.
There is no charge to join the Summer Reading Clubs, and they are open to everyone, regardless of the county of residence. Participants may register at any Fort Bend County library, or they may register online by going to the FBCL website and clicking on the “SRC Sign-Up” images, which will become available on June 1. The library system has changed to a new registration system, and previous participants in the SRC will need to set up a new log-in page. When the online registration form has been completed, readers will then have their own online page on which to record their books and reading time.
Registration for children under the age of 13 will require a parent’s email address. An email will be sent to that address with a link to confirm the registration and activate the child’s log-in page. The confirmation link is valid for 7 days after registration is initiated. If it is not confirmed within that 7-day period, the registration will expire.
Reading rewards can be redeemed beginning Monday, June 8. The last day to pick up awards is August 29. Prizes must be collected from the “primary library of use” that the reader indicated on the registration form.
