Get Ideas for Spring Gardening at Library Programs

Spring is in the air, and gardeners are making plans for the new planting season. Two Fort Bend County library branches will have programs on gardening this month. Join us for inspiration and to get new ideas of plant varieties that work well in our area.

The Sienna Branch Library will present “Roses and Edibles – Low-Maintenance Gardening,” on Thursday, February 9, beginning at 7:00 pm, in the Large Meeting Room of the library. Master Gardener Becky Leugemors will discuss roses and other plants, with a special focus on organic gardening. She will present tips on trimming, fertilizing, training wayward branches, identifying local insects, and on making soil healthier.

George Memorial Library will present “The Ins and Outs of Indoor Gardening,” on Tuesday, February 28, beginning at 6:30 pm, in Room 2B of the library. Fort Bend County Master Gardener Tricia Bradbury will discuss ideas for gardening inside your home for fun, flavor, fragrance, and improved air quality.

The programs are free and open to the public. For more information, call the library’s Public Information Office at 281-341-2677 or the branch library.
