Small-Business Workshops for Entrepreneurs

Are you thinking about starting a new business? Would you like ideas for helping your business grow?  Fort Bend County Libraries will have several programs in September for small-business entrepreneurs.

Facebook for Business Pages
Sienna Branch Library – Tuesday, September 3, 2:00-3:00 pm, Computer Lab.

One of the most popular social-media sites, Facebook offers a wealth of resources for the small-business owner. Learn how a business page differs from a personal page, how to set up a business page, and how to take advantage of some of the unique features that a business page provides. Business Resources @ Your Library

Business owners and entrepreneurs will find a wide variety of business-development tools available for free at Fort Bend County Libraries. Many of the resources are online and can be accessed remotely over the Internet at any time of the day or night. Learn how to use these resources to conduct investment research, develop business plans, examine company profiles, and stay abreast of current issues in professional journals and in mainstream news sources. SCORE: Building Your Brand
First Colony Branch Library – Saturday, September 14, 10:30 am-12:30 pm, Meeting Room.

In the SCORE workshop, Marsha Hudson will provide an overview of branding, marketing, and public relations strategies for small-business entrepreneurs. Learn how to develop and incorporate these concepts into a successful business plan that will increase awareness of an organization’s purposes and goals. Get tips on how to create a memorable and identifiable brand that will effectively and consistently promote the organization’s message.

This program is presented in partnership with SCORE, the non-profit mentoring arm of the U.S. Small Business Administration. Those attending this program will learn about resources that are available through SCORE and how to draw on the experience of other SCORE members.
