Watch Summer Youth Programs in FBCL’s Facebook Group “Virtual Programs & Educational Resources”

June 2021

Fort Bend County Libraries has a special Facebook Group page specifically for families with young children! The “FBCL Virtual Programs & Educational Resources” Facebook group page is a one-stop online platform providing information on FBCL’s educational resources as well as timely and easy access to the virtual youth programs that FBCL offers.

Beginning June 7, online programs for FBCL’s Summer Reading Challenge, “Tails & Tales,” will be posted in the Facebook group page, so group members will get notifications when programs are posted.

Age-appropriate stories, songs, and puppet shows are featured in the Little Bits, Activity-Time Tuesdays, Family Story Time, and TRL (Think, Read, & Learn) videos.

Little Bits – Mondays -- provides caregiver/infant multisensory activities -- including songs and rhymes -- that help develop early-literacy skills for infants 1-12 months of age.

Activity-Time Tuesday – for children entering grades K-3

Family Story Time – Wednesdays -- (all ages)

Families of toddlers and preschoolers may pick up to-go activity packets from the libraries for the month. These packets contain fun craft activities that can be done at home.

ThinkReadLearn (TRL) (Thursdays) – designed for school-aged children in grades 4 through 8 -- include crafts, stories, book talks, and STEAM-related activities.

To join the group, Facebook users can go to the Fort Bend County Libraries Facebook page, or any of the individual FBCL branch Facebook pages, click on the “Groups” tab, select the “FBCL Virtual Programs & Educational Resources” group, and click on the “Join Group” button.

Families can also subscribe to FBCL’s YouTube channel, where they can find puppet shows, children’s arts & crafts activities, and much more. FBCL also has a YouTube channel for adults.
