Program Description

Do you enjoy listening to podcasts, but don’t have anyone to discuss them with?  Do you like the idea of a book club, but can’t commit to finishing the book each month?  Join the University Branch Podcast Club to engage in conversation about podcasts on a variety of topics.  Each month we’ll have a topic and a short list of podcast episodes to listen to.  At the meeting we will discuss those episodes and the themes within them.

This meeting will be held online via WebEx.  You must register for this program to receive an email invite with the link to the meeting.

The topic for January’s meeting is Puzzles!  We’ll be discussing the following podcast episodes:

  • "Inside the Jigsaw Puzzle Factory", from the Every Little Thing podcast, 13 minutes (just the first half of the episode)

  • "Kryptos, the Uncrackable Code", from the Great Big Story podcast, 17 minutes

  • "I'm the New York Times Crossword Puzzle Editor", from the Weird Word podcast, 48 minutes

  • "Cicada 3301 & The Liber Primus", from the Dark Frontier podcast, 52 minutes (start at 0:09:45 to skip the host's chit chat)

  • "The Twists and Turns of the Rubik's Cube", from the Outlook podcast, 26 m

  • "Musicals, Luxury Cars & Birds", from the Question Connection podcast, 8 minutes

  • "Episode 1: Shopping Malls and Circular Logic", from the Brain Drop podcast, 9 minutes

  • "Episode 2: Mister E Mystery", from the Brain Drop podcast, 10 minutes (just listen to the answers to Episode 1's puzzles)
