Calling all ice cream lovers! Put your ice cream making skills to the test and enter our first ever Homemade Ice Cream Competition! Prizes will be awarded by official staff judges, but members of the public will get to sample the entries and vote on their favorite flavor, to select a People’s Choice Award. So, whether you’re competing for a prize or simply want to sample some free ice creams, a good time is sure to be had by all!
Competitors will register between Saturday, July 6 and Wednesday, July 24.
Please provide the flavor at registration.
Rules & Information:
- All entries must include the list of ingredients used. If you don’t have a complete list at the time of registration, you will need to submit it on or before July 27. Entries without a list of ingredients will not be accepted.
- For food safety, recipes must not include eggs.
- A minimum of 2 quarts must be provided for judging.
- One recipe per competitor.
- Ice cream must be brought to the library between 1:30 and 2 pm on Saturday, July 27.
- Judging will be based on flavor, texture, and appearance.
- Coolers and ice will be provided, for keeping the ice cream cold during the public tasting.
- Competitors will scoop out samples of their ice cream for the public to taste until at least 3 pm.
