The groundbreaking for FBCL's Fulshear Branch Library, located on the north side of the county in Precinct 3 on the Texas Heritage Parkway in Fulshear, took place on July 19, 2021. Fort Bend County Commissioners Court voted and approved a redistricting map in 2021, resulting in a change in the precinct number. The library is now officially located in Precinct 1. The building will be approximately 42,000 square feet and the expected completion is in 2023. The architect for the project is Huitt-Zollars and the General Contractor is Flintco. Funding for this project was made possible by a 2015 bond election. To meet the expanded needs of a rapidly growing population in the area, this larger building replaced the existing Bob Lutts Fulshear/Simonton Branch Library, which closed on May 13, 2023. The Fulshear Branch Library opened on December 18, 2023, with a Grand Opening celebration and Ribbon-Cutting ceremony on January 13, 2024.
