Libraries to Host College Fairs in June

Students who would like to have more information on colleges around Texas and elsewhere are invited to attend summer College Fairs that will take place at four Fort Bend County Libraries in June.

Representatives from colleges and universities will be on hand to share information about their programs with current high school students and their parents or guardians. Students will have the opportunity to learn about educational opportunities available at the colleges, as well as admission requirements, financial aid, student housing, and more.

The events will take place at the following locations:


•    Sugar Land Branch Library -- Tuesday, June 11, 1:00 to 3:00 pm, in the Meeting Room of the library.

Schools from Texas that will be represented at the Sugar Land Branch Library’s College Fair include: Art Institute of Houston, Baylor University, Lamar University, Prairie View A&M University, Texas State University, Texas Woman’s University, University of Houston – Downtown, University of North Texas, University of Texas – Dallas, and University of Texas – San Antonio.

Colleges from outside of Texas that will be represented at the Sugar Land Branch Library’s College Fair include: the University of Alabama – Birmingham, University of Colorado – Colorado Springs, University of Louisiana – Monroe, University of Oklahoma, and University of Tennessee.


•    University Branch Library – Friday, June 14, 1:00 to 3:00 pm, in Meeting Rooms 1 and 2 of the library.

Schools from Texas that will be represented at the University Branch Library’s College Fair include: Art Institute of Houston, Baylor University, Lamar University, Prairie View A&M University, Stephen F. Austin State University, Texas State University, Texas Woman’s University, University of Houston – Clear Lake, University of Houston – Downtown, University of North Texas, University of Texas – Dallas, and University of Texas – San Antonio.

Colleges from outside of Texas that will be represented at the University Branch Library’s College Fair include: Kansas State University, University of Louisiana – Monroe, and University of Oklahoma.


•    Cinco Ranch Branch Library – Monday, June 17, 12:30 to 3:00 pm, in the Meeting Room of the library.

Schools from Texas that will be represented at the Cinco Ranch Branch Library’s College Fair include: Art Institute of Houston, Baylor University, Houston Community College, Lamar University, Lone Star College – CyFair, Prairie View A&M University, Rice University, Stephen F. Austin State University, Texas State University, Texas Woman’s University, University of Houston (main), University of Houston – Clear Lake, University of Houston – Downtown, University of Houston – Victoria, University of North Texas, University of St. Thomas, University of Texas – Dallas, and University of  Texas – San Antonio.

Schools from outside of Texas that will be represented at the Cinco Ranch Branch Library’s College Fair include: Kansas State University, Missouri University of Science & Technology, University of Alabama, University of Alabama – Birmingham, University of Denver, University of Louisiana – Monroe, University of Mississippi, University of Oklahoma, University of Tampa, and University of Tennessee.

Students may attend the following presentation in the Multipurpose Room:
     “Admissions 101: How to Apply” – 12:30-1:00 pm


•    Sienna Branch Library – Wednesday, June 19, 1:00 to 3:00 pm, in the Meeting Room of the library.
