Ancient Civilizations: Egypt

Beginning from the early prehistoric settlements of the northern Nile valley, Sheba Akhtar, assistant professor of architecture, will present a fascinating history of Neolithic Egypt and Dynastic Egypt. Ancient Egyptian architecture, the monumental buildings constructed from mud brick and limestone (i.e. temples, fortresses, tombs), will be discussed, along with Ancient Egyptian architectural motifs that have and continue to influence present-day architecture.
