Description
Over 400,000 Confederate and Union soldiers were captured during the Civil War. Some of these soldiers were exchanged and some were held prisoner at more than 150 different prison sites throughout the North and South. Many of these men did not survive their captivity. Learn what life was like in these prisoner-of-war camps for the men who had to do endure it. This presentation will also discuss different resources available to help you find out if one of your ancestors was a prisoner during the Civil War.
