Albert George Branch Library in Needville to Close Temporarily for Roof Repair

The Albert George Branch Library, located at 9230 Gene Street in Needville, will close temporarily beginning Monday, February 25, for repairs to the roof. The library will remain closed until repairs are complete.

Books, CDs, and DVDs that have been checked out may continue to be returned to the temporary book-drop located outside the Albert George Branch Library, even while the library is closed.

The Nooks, LaunchPads, and mobile WiFi hotspots that were checked out from the Albert George Branch Library cannot be returned to any other library, and must be returned by Saturday, February 23.

The pick-up location for items that have been requested and placed on hold for pick-up at the Albert George Branch Library will temporarily default to George Memorial Library, located at 1001 Golfview Drive in Richmond, until the Albert George Branch Library re-opens, unless the library patron chooses to select a different pick-up location.

Children’s weekly programs scheduled during the period of the closure are cancelled.

“We want to remind everyone that they still have access to many library resources online 24/7,” said Clara Russell, Library Director. “The library’s resources that can be accessed through our website – such as the databases, Homework Help, Ask-a-Librarian chat, OverDrive ebooks, the Hoopla digital movie and music collection, and other online services – will still be available from any computer outside the library that has an Internet connection.”
