Description

Senior Series is a series of conversations with local experts focused on the unique and complex housing related issues facing mature homeowners and their families.  This month’s topic is The Truth About Senior Legal Needs.

Things have changed regarding the process of estate planning after someone passes away. It’s not as simple as one may think, especially when the wishes of the deceased were never specified in writing. Learn what documents are necessary and most appropriate, and how these instruments work within the probate process.

Expert panelists will discuss the differences between trusts and wills, as well as how these documents can impact both the living and the dead. Legal guardianships will also be discussed. Learn about ensuring that your needs are met should you become dependent upon others and that your wishes are followed.

Liz McNeel, with Keller Williams Metropolitan and Founder of the Houston Senior Living Series will moderate a panel of experts in exploring this topic.  This program is geared toward older adults and their family members. It is free and open to the public.  No registration required.
