Always wanted to try birding, but never knew where to begin? Join us to learn why the Upper Texas Gulf Coast is a great birding area.

Shannon Westveer, an experienced volunteer with the Texas Master Naturalist Coastal Prairie Chapter will share helpful tips to get you started with this fascinating hobby! You will learn about backyard birds, how to conserve populations, the difference between migrants versus residents, and how to manage suburban habitat so that they thrive in a human-dominated landscape.

Shannon has served as Pocket Prairie restoration, Vice-president (2021-2022) and Training Class Director (2020-2022). Come learn from her experience!
